    Schwabe: Anton S. aus der Lausitz veröffentlichte als Pastor an St. Petri in Ratzeburg eine dramatische Bearbeitung der Weihnachtsgeschichte bis zum bethlehemitischen Kindermorde und Tode des Herodes: „Comoedia Gar kurtz vnd klein Von Josephs verwunderung da er die Tochter Heli Mariam seine vertrawete Braut, schwanger fand: Des Engels bericht vnd vnterricht“ etc. Vlssen 1596, 8°. Das Stück ist nur durch Goedeke's Notiz (Grundriß ² II, 403) bekannt, der vor Jahren eine Anfrage nach dem Aufbewahrungsorte desselben unbeantwortet ließ.

      Ergänzung: In J. F. Burmeister's Beiträgen zur Kirchengeschichte des Herzogthums Lauenburg, 2. Ausg. von J. A. Amann, Ratzeburg 1882, S. 66 ff., sind eingehendere Nachrichten über das Leben von Anton Schwabe (Suevius) zu finden. Danach war S. bis 1587 Diakonus in Stapel, Amt Neuhaus, wurde in diesem Jahre vom Superintendenten D. Gerhard Sagittarius als Diakonus an der Petrikirche zu Ratzeburg und zugleich als Schulcollege eingeführt und erhielt von hier aus 1599 das Pastorat in St. Georgsberg vor Ratzeburg, wo er 1605 starb. Ad. Hofmeister.
