  • Biographical Presentation

    Elsner: Christoph Friedr. E., Arzt, 1749 in Königsberg i. Pr. geb., habilitirte sich, nachdem er 1773 nach Beendigung seiner medicinischen Studien daselbst den Doctorgrad erlangt hatte, als Arzt in Bartenstein, kehrte einige Jahre später nach seiner Vaterstadt zurück, trat hier als Docent auf, wurde 1785 zum Prof. ord. an der med. Facultät und zum königl. Regierungsrath ernannt und starb am 19. April 1820. — E. erfreute sich des Rufes eines ausgezeichneten Arztes und Lehrers; von seinen litterarischen Arbeiten (vergl. das vollständige Verzeichniß derselben in Biogr. méd. IV. p. 30 und Dict. histor. de la méd. II. 201) verdient vorzugsweise seine „Abhandlung über die Brustbräune“, 1778, genannt zu werden.
