    Werner: Johannes W., Arzt des 16.—17. Jahrhunderts, studirte in Helmstedt, wo er unter den Auspicien von Jacob Horst, seinem nachmaligen Schwiegervater die Doctorwürde erlangte, war anfangs Stadtphysicus in Halberstadt und folgte 1599 einem Rufe als außerordentlicher Professor nach Helmstedt. Zuletzt siedelte er nach Hannover über, wo er noch zu Anfang des 17. Jahrhunderts lebte. Er schrieb u. a.: „Libri II de therapeutica, sive sanitatis restituendae ratione artificiosa“ (Frankfurt 1596).
