    Pallas: August Friedrich P., Arzt, Sohn von Simon P. (s. u.), ist am 5. September 1731 in Berlin geboren und hatte, nach Beendigung seiner medicinischen Studien, 1754 in Leyden mit Vertheidigung seiner Dissertation „de variis culculum secandi methodis“ (abgedr. in Haller, Collect. diss. chirurg.), in welcher er eine vollständige kritische Geschichte des Steinschnittes und der damals üblichen Methoden dieser Operation giebt, die Doctorwürde erlangt. Nach seiner Vaterstadt zurückgekehrt, wurde er zum Professor der Chirurgie an dem Collegium medico-chirurgicum ernannt und ist in dieser Stellung bis zur Auflösung des Instituts verblieben. Außer der genannten Dissertation und mehreren theils casuistischen, theils kritischen Artikeln in verschiedenen medicinischen Zeitschriften hat er ein s. Z. geschätztes „Lehrbuch der Chirurgie“ (1764, in 2. verbesserter Auflage 1776) verfaßt. Als Wundarzt erfreute er sich eines großen Rufes; sein Tod ist am 5. Mai 1812 erfolgt.
