Biographical Presentation
Pfingsten: Joh. Hermann P., geb. zu Stuttgart am 16. Mai 1751, Sohn eines dortigen Materialisten. Er war bald an den Universitäten in Halle, Tübingen, Erfurt, in gelehrter Richtung, bald in Schemnitz in Ungarn, im Herzogthum Magdeburg und Fürstenthum Halberstadt, in Sachsen-Gotha|und Mainz in praktischer Richtung thätig, bis er 1794 nach Constantinopel ging, ohne daß sein weiteres Schicksal bekannt wäre. Zudem war er ein fruchtbarer Schriftsteller im Gebiet der Mineralogie und des Bergbaus, der Chemie, Botanik, Arzneilehre, auch Medicin, Physiologie und Psychologie, Cameral- und Polizeiwissenschaft, sowie noch einiger weiterer Fächer.
