Biographical Presentation
Carpzov: Christian C., Jurist, dritter Sohn Benedicts C. I., der erste aus dessen zweiter Ehe, geboren am 20. April 1605 zu Colditz. Studirte zu Wittenberg, Leipzig, Jena, Heidelberg und promovirte zu Straßburg zum Doctor juris. Nachdem er nun zu Wittenberg einige Jahre gelesen und advocirt hatte, wurde er als Professor und Beisitzer der Juristenfacultät nach Frankfurt a. O. berufen, wo er am 20. December 1642 starb. Ein moroser, ja unverträglicher Mann, lebte er in einer Mißehe; noch J. Christoph Becmann meint, Hexerei sei die Ursache gewesen. Die Schriften Christian Carpzov's verzeichnet Jugler, Beiträge I. S. 305 ff.
