    Katte: Hans Heinrich Graf v. K., geb. am 16. October 1681 als Sohn des fürstlich sachsen-koburgischen Hofmarschalls Hans v. K. und der Eva Auguste v. Stammern, † am 31. Mai 1741. Er trat erst in gothaische Dienste, wo er 1703 Major war und 1706 in das preußische Heer, in welchem er Oberst und Commandeur eines Kavallerieregiments wurde. Am 6. Juni 1718 Generalmajor, 5. Juli 1731 Generallieutenant, 17. Juli 1736 General der Kavallerie ward K. im Juni 1740 Generalfeldmarschall und mit seiner Familie in den Grafenstand erhoben. — Auf den Schlachtfeldern von Ramillies und Malplaquet bewährt, zeichnete er sich 1715 vor Stralsund besonders aus und erhielt den schwarzen Adlerorden. Später bekam er mehrere große Commandos bei Kavallerieübungen und einige besondere Aufträge des Königs. 1734 war er Gouverneur von Kolberg geworden. Am 31. Mai 1741 starb er zu Rekahn bei Brandenburg. K. war zwei Mal verheirathet: 1) mit Dorothea Sophie Reichsgräfin v. Wartensleben († am 5. Nov. 1706); 2) mit Katharina Elisabeth v. Bredow († am 18. Juli 1736). Ein Sohn erster Ehe, geboren zu Berlin, am 28. Februar 1704, Hans Hermann, ist der unglückliche Freund Friedrichs II.
