Biographical Presentation
Gaudy: Friedrich Wilhelm Leopold v. G., aus Ostpreußen, war 1806 Major und Commandeur eines Grenadier-Bataillons, wurde 1809 als Oberst, dann als Generalmajor Gouverneur des Kronprinzen Friedrich Wilhelm. Er gab Veranlassung, daß dessen bisheriger Erzieher Delbrück, an dessen Stelle Ancillon trat, entlassen wurde. — G. hatte geglaubt, daß die bisherige Erziehung des Kronprinzen einen zu wenig militärischen Charakter getragen habe. 1814 war er Generalgouverneur von Sachsen, 1815 wurde er erster Commandant von Danzig, 1817 Generallieutenant, und starb 1823.
