    Johann II. van Sierck oder Zyrik, 40. Bischof von Utrecht, einem gräflichen Geschlechte in Lothringen entsprossen, war der Nachfolger Johanns I. von Nassau (1288), das rühmliche Gegenbild seines schlechten Vorgängers, beherzigte ebensosehr die Interessen der Kirche, wie auch die materielle Entwicklung und Wohlfahrt seines Territoriums. Als er die von Johann I. an Gysbrecht von Amstel und Hermann von Woerden verpfändeten Schlösser Vreeland und Montfoort wieder einlösen wollte und beide die Rückgabe verweigerten, setzte er sich, unterstützt vom Grafen Floris V., mit Gewalt in den Besitz derselben. Unter Priestern und Laien stellte er die verfallene Kirchenzucht wieder her und durch seinen Eifer wurde zur Fortsetzung des Baus des Domes in Utrecht das nöthige Geld gesammelt. Er stand in großem Ansehen bei Bonifacius VIII., der ihn 1296 zum Bischof von Toul ernannte, um hier die seit lange gestörte Ordnung wieder herzustellen, was ihm auch vollständig gelang. Er starb 1305.
