Biographical Presentation
Welsch: Christian Ludwig W., geboren als Sohn von Gottfried W. (s. diesen) zu Leipzig am 23. Februar 1669, studirte in seiner Vaterstadt die Heilkunde, machte eine wissenschaftliche Reise nach Italien und erhielt 1690 in seiner Vaterstadt die philosophische, 1693 in Wittenberg die medicinische Doctorwürde. 1700 habilitirte er sich an der medicinischen Facultät der Leipziger Universität. Er starb am 1. Januar 1719. Seine Schriften haben heutzutage kaum noch litterarischen Werth. Wir nennen: „Examen renum succenturiatorum“ (Leipzig 1691); „Compendiosa status naturalis hominis historia“ (Basel 1692); „Tabulae anatomicae“ (Leipzig 1692 und 1712 mit Beiträgen von Rivinus); „Diss. de verme cordis“ (Wittenberg 1693); „De masticatione“ (1703); „De superstitiosa morborum cura christiano atque dogmatico medico indigna“ (1710).
