Biographical Presentation
Böckh: Christian Gottfried B., pädagogischer und Kinderschriftsteller, dem Altdeutschen geneigt. Geb. 1732 zu Näher-Memmingen bei Nördlingen, 1762 Rector des Pädagogiums in Eßlingen, 1772 Diakonus in Nördlingen, wo er 1792 starb. Beabsichtigte schon im Anfange der 60er Jahre eine Geschichte der deutschen Dichtkunst. Zu der älteren heimischen Poesie zogen ihn zuerst die pädagogischen Lehrgedichte „König Tirol“, „Winsbeke und Winsbekin": „De antiquissimorum Germanorum in educandis liberis cura ac ratione“ 1765. Er entwarf 1778 den Plan einer kritischen Bibliothek für die altdeutsche Litteratur und wurde 1791 Mitherausgeber der Zeitschrift „Bragur“, s. Gräter. — Schlichtegroll's Nekrolog 1792, II. 352.
