    Ackermann: Johann Adam A., Landschaftsmaler, geb. in Mainz 1780, lebte seit 1804 in Frankfurt a. M., wo er 1853 starb. Beifall fanden besonders seine Winterlandschaften, auch im Aquarell war er geschickt. Sein Bruder Georg Friedrich, geb. zu Mainz 1787, † zu Frankfurt 1843, malte ebenfalls Landschaften jedoch mit weniger Erfolg. — (Meyer's N. Künstlerlex.).
