Biographical Presentation
Avont: Peeter va A., Maler, Radirer und Kunsthändler, getauft zu Mecheln den 14. Januar 1600, trat 1622—23 in die St. Lucasgilde in Antwerpen, wurde 17. October 1631 Bürger der Stadt und starb 1. Nov. 1652 zu Deurne unweit Antwerpen. — A. malte Historien und Landschaften, die er geschickt mit Figuren zu staffiren wußte. Besonders bekannt ist er durch die Radirungen, die er selbst geliefert und die W. Hollar nach ihm ausgeführt hat; sie stellen Kinder und Genien dar. — Vgl. van Lerius u.
