  • Biographical Presentation

    Als Offizier in der hessischen Artillerie beschäftigte sich B. mit den verschiedenen Granatzündersystemen. Er erfand den Rotationszünder, der auf einer Skala auf eine bestimmte Zündzeit eingestellt werden konnte und 1854 in der hessischen Artillerie eingeführt wurde. 1859 wurde er als Major in die österreichische Armee berufen. Hier bildete er das Zündersystem des österreichischen Feldschrapnells aus. Er war Träger hoher in- und ausländischer Orden.
