  • Biographical Presentation

    A. studierte zunächst Jurisprudenz in Graz, wo er zum Dr. jur. promoviert wurde, dann Zoologie in Bonn und Wien (1891 Dr. phil. in Wien). Nach mehrjähriger Volontärtätigkeit wurde er 1905 als wissenschaftlicher Assistent am Naturhistorischen Museum in Wien angestellt, seit 1912 als Kustosadjunkt und 1919-38 als Kustos. Bis in seine letzten Lebenstage wissenschaftlich tätig, genoß er auf seinem Spezialgebiet, der Myriopodunkunde, als einer der besten Kenner Weltruf.
