Biographical Presentation
Gollowitz: Dominicus G., katholischer Theologe, geboren am 31. Mai 1761 zu Geiselhöring, gestorben am 9. Mai 1809 zu Konzell in Baiern. G. wurde 1779 Benedictiner in Oberaltaich, 1784 Priester, 1798 Professor der Moral- und Pastoraltheologie (und Dr. theol.) zu Ingolstadt, 1799 Professor derselben Disciplinen und der Dogmatik am Lyceum zu Amberg, 1804 Pfarrer zu Konzell. Die bedeutendste unter seinen zahlreichen theologischen Schriften ist die „Anweisung zur Pastoraltheologie“, 2 Bände, 1804; sie ist 1825, 1830 und 1836 von G. Fr. Wiedemann neu herausgegeben, 1851 von dem Redemtoristen Franz Vogl neu bearbeitet worden ("Pastoraltheologie nach den Grundzügen des Dom. G.“, 6. Auflage).
