Biographical Presentation
E. zählt nicht zu den großen Kirchenfürsten. Er zeichnet sich dadurch aus, daß er immer treu zum deutschen König, vor allem Heinrich II., stand, nicht nur als Erzbischof, sondern auch schon als Abt von Fulda (seit 997), so bei Heinrichs Umritt 1002, im Feldzug gegen Otto von Hammerstein 1018/20 und bei den Eingriffen Heinrichs in Fulda 1013 (Absetzung des Abtes Brantog). Erhalten sind von ihm einige Predigten.
