Biographical Presentation
Gallus: von deutscher Abstammung, Cistenzienser Abt von Aula Regia, Königssaal in Böhmen, wird als ein in der heiligen Schrift sehr bewanderter und beredter Ordensgeistlicher charakterisirt und muß um 1350—70 geblüht haben. Trithemius gibt leider die Zeit seines Lebens nicht genauer an. Er schrieb für seine Ordensbrüder zu Königssaal eine Anleitung zur christlichen und klösterlichen Vollkommenheit in drei Büchern unter dem Titel: Malogranatum sive dialogus inter patrem et filium, und Sermones. Ersteres Werk erschien im Drucke 1481 und 1487 und (Argentorati Eggesteyn) s. l. et a. (Vgl. Hain, Repertorium bibliographicum vol. I. pars II, n. 7449—7451 p. 433) und liegt noch handschriftlich in der Bibliothek des Cist.- Klosters Neun in Steiermark¶ und in der k. k. Hofbibliothek in Wien. Auch ein anderes Werk: Resolutiones omnium dubiorum et difficultatum, quae a statu religioso quempiam avocare possent soll von ihm herrühren, welches Visch als Anhang seines Malogranatum in einer Handschrift des ehemaligen Cist.- Klosters Altenkamp¶ (Vetus-campus) in der Erzdiöcese Köln fand.
