Biographical Presentation
Ittner: Franz v. J., Chemiker, geb. am 11. Febr. 1787 zu Heitersheim bei Freiburg in Baden, studirte seit 1803 in Landshut, Würzburg, Göttingen und Freiburg, wo er 1807 mit einer Abhandlung über die Blausäure zum Doctor promovirte. Nach einjährigem Aufenthalte in Paris trat er zu Freiburg in das Laboratorium des Pharmaceuten Keller. 1813 daselbst zum außerordentlichen und 1818 zum ordentlichen Professor der Arzneikunde und Naturwissenschaften ernannt, erhielt er am 21. August 1820 nach Menzinger's Rücktritt das Lehramt der allgemeinen und pharmaceutischen Chemie. Er starb den 29. August 1823. — Er war einer der Ersten, welcher die von Scheele|entdeckte Blausäure einer näheren Untersuchung unterwarf und der Erste, welcher die absolute Blausäure gasförmig erhielt.
