Biographical Presentation
Donndorf: Johann August D., geb. am 23. März 1754 zu Quedlinburg, von 1777 an Regierungs-Advocat, dann von 1800 an Bürgermeister und Inspector des Gymnasiums daselbst, ein fleißiger Polyhistor, dessen compilirende Thätigkeit sich auf die gesammte Naturlehre und Technologie erstreckte. Von umfangreicheren Werken verfaßte er: „Die Lehre von der Elektricität“, 2 Bde. Erfurt 1784; „Zoologische Beiträge“, Leipzig 1792—94; „Geschichte der Erfindungen“, 6 Bde. Quedlinburg 1817—20. Er starb zu Quedlinburg am 22. Novbr. 1837.
