Biographical Presentation
Voit: Edmund V., Jesuit, geboren am 27. September 1707 zu Neustadt an der Saale, † am 29. November 1780 zu Neustadt an der Hardt. V. war am 11. Juli 1727 in den Orden eingetreten, wurde 1748 Professor der H. Schrift und Doctor der Theologie zu Würzburg und war dann von 1749 an elf Jahre Professor der Moraltheologie daselbst. Später bekleidete er mehrere Aemter im Orden. Am 21. März 1771 wurde er Provinzial der oberrheinischen Provinz, der letzte vor der Aufhebung des Ordens. 1748 erschien von ihm zu Würzburg „Exercitium hebraicum, quo ex Veteris Testamenti textu originali contra judaeos ostenditur pluralitas personarum divinarum et unitas naturae divinae“. Das bedeutendste von ihm herausgegebene Werk ist „Theologia moralis ex solidis probatorum auctorum principiis et variorum casuum fictorum et factorum resolutionibus“ (Würzburg 1750), noch sechs Mal zu Würzburg gedruckt, zuletzt 1860, auch zu Bassano (1776), Rom und Paris.
