Biographical Presentation
Leßner: Johann Marcus L., ein Dichter geistlicher Lieder, wurde am 7. Juni 1646 zu Feldkirchen in Baiern geboren, studirte zu Altdorf und Straßburg, wurde im J. 1674 Pfarrer zu Wildenreuth und, nachdem er in der Zwischenzeit noch an einigen anderen Orten gestanden hatte, im J. 1704 Stadtpfarrer zu Lauf, wo er am 24. Februar 1724 sein 50jahriges Amtsjubiläum feierte. Vier Wochen danach starb er. Unter seinen Liedern hat das Lied „Willkommen oft gewünschter Tod“ eine größere Verbreitung erlangt; andere finden sich in Altdorfischen Liedersammlungen.
