    Gunz: Justus Gottfried G. wurde im J. 1714 in Königstein geboren, 1747 Professor in Leipzig und vier Jahre später Leibarzt am sächsischen Königshof, starb im J. 1754. Er war nicht allein ein hervorragender Augenarzt, sondern auch ein Mann von großer allgemeiner medicinischer Bildung. G. hat zwei für jene Zeit bedeutende Arbeiten über die Suffusion und über Staphylom geschrieben, die sich beide in den ausgewählten chirurgischen Dissertationen, herausgegeben von A. v. Haller (Amsterdam 1755), finden.
