    Bridler: Placidus B., geb. 1613 zu Bischofszell im Thurgau, im 18. Jahr Noviz im Stifte St. Gallen, 1638 Priester, studirte, nachdem er bereits Theologie zu St. Gallen vorgetragen, in Ingolstadt canonisches Recht, bildete sich weiter zu Rom aus, wurde Dr. jur., lehrte canonisches Recht in Rosach, 1651 Professor desselben in Salzburg, ging 1653 ins Kloster zurück, lebte als vicarius in spirit. zu Weil im Thurgau, wo er am 15. Nov. 1679 am Schlagflusse starb. Er schrieb: „Commentar. in univers. jus can.“ (Mscr.), „Positiones de deo uno et trino", 1638, „Disputatio jur. de clausulis rescriptorum“, 1645, „De vita et honestate clericorum“, 1648.
