Biographical Presentation
Engelbrecht: Georg E., Rechtsgelehrter, geb. 4. März 1638 zu Hildesheim, † 24. Aug. 1705 in Helmstädt. Er promovirte 1665 in Helmstädt und wurde dort außerordentlicher, dann ordentlicher Professor der Rechte, Senior der Universität, auch Kur-Braunschweig-Lüneburgischer Rath. Außer akademischen Dissertationen schrieb er ein „Compendium iurisprudentiae secundum ordinem Digestorum“,1689, 1747, und „Exercitationes ad Institutiones Justinianeas.“,1709. Sein Sohn, Georg E., geb. 1679, † im October 1735 in Celle, war Professor der Sittenlehre und der Rechte zu Helmstädt, hierauf Hofrath in Celle und zuletzt Oberappellationsrath daselbst. Ein zweiter Sohn, Christoph Johann Konrad E., geb. 24. Septbr. 1690, † 20. October 1724, ward 1715 außerordentlicher, 1717 ordentlicher Professor der Rechte zu Helmstädt.
