  • Biographical Presentation

    Nach seiner Lehrzeit in der väterlichen Werkstatt (1593–96) und bei Jakob Müller in Heilbronn (1597–1601) war K. zunächst in Forchtenberg tätig. 1606 erscheint er als Meister in Würzburg, im folgenden Jahr als Ratsbildhauer und Bürger der Stadt; 1609 arbeitete er an der Kanzel des Doms. 1610 übernahm K. die väterliche Werkstatt in Forchtenberg, die er bis zu seinem Tode leitete. Von den Kriegsjahren 1631-40 abgesehen, lassen sich seit 1603 fast für jedes Jahr Arbeiten K.s feststellen, so für Kirchen in Bamberg, Wertheim, Michelstadt, Langenburg, Schöntal und Öhringen. Hervorgehoben seien Portal (1612/13) und Kanzel (1626) der Wallfahrtskirche Dettelbach.
