  • Biographical Presentation

    B. kam 1606 in die Lehre zu dem Liegnitzer Drucker Nikolaus Schneider. Nach beendeter Lehrzeit begab er sich auf Wanderschaft nach Holland und Belgien und kehrte 1613 in seine Vaterstadt zurück. In den folgenden Jahren unterstützte er seine Mutter in der Druckerei, die er 1618 allein übernahm. 84 Drucke sind bei Scheibel aufgeführt. Auf seinen Schwiegersohn K. Klosemann ging die Druckerei über. Da er und die nachfolgenden Besitzer keine gelernten Drucker waren, verwalteten die Faktoren G. Gründer, J. Ch. Jacob, J. G. Rörer, J. Jancke und J. Th. Straubel bis in die Mitte des 18. Jahrhunderts die Offizin für die B.schen Erben.
