Biographical Presentation
Leisring: Volkmar L., Tonsetzer geistlicher Lieder, wurde zu Gebstädt in Thüringen geboren, war im J. 1617 Schulmeister (ludi rector) zu Schkölen bei|Naumburg, ward 1619 Pastor zu Nohra bei Weimar, ward sodann im J. 1626 nach Buchfart versetzt und starb hier im J. 1637. — L. hat mehrere musikalische Werke geschrieben, schon 1611 als Student in Jena eine „Corona musices“. In dem Cantionale sacrum, das in drei Theilen Gotha 1646—1646 herauskam, befinden sich auch von ihm Melodien.
