Biographical Presentation
Mentges: Joh. Martin M., katholischer Geistlicher, geb. 1743 zu Alf an der Mosel, † 1815 zu Brakel in Westfalen. Er wurde 1762 Jesuit. Nach der Aufhebung des Ordens war er einige Zeit in Trier in der Seelsorge thätig, dann fünf Jahre Domprediger in Paderborn und 21 Jahre Pfarrer in Brakel. Er war als Prediger sehr angesehen, und einige Bände seiner Predigten sind 1856—64 etwas überarbeitet, neu gedruckt worden.
