Biographical Presentation
Rogall: Georg Friedrich R., protestantischer Theolog des 18. Jahrhunderts, geboren 1700 zu Königsberg i. P., † am 6. April 1733 ebendaselbst. — Er studirte in Königsberg, Frankfurt a. O. und Halle, wo er Francke's Tischgenosse war, aber auch den Philosophen Chr. Wolf hörte, wurde 1724 Magister, kehrte darauf nach Königsberg zurück und hielt mit großem Eifer und Beifall Vorlesungen über das Neue Testament, wurde 1725 außerordentlicher Professor und Doctor der Theologie, 1728 Inspector des Collegium Fridericianum, 1729 Consistorialrath, 1731 ordentlicher Professor, 1732 Pastor an Domkirche und Inspector der Domschule, starb aber schon im 33. Lebensjahre an Entkräftung. Außer verschiedenen theologischen Dissertationen und asketischen Schriften hat er ein Gesangbuch für seine Königsberger Gemeinde herausgegeben.
