    Fyens: Thomas F., Sohn des Arztes Joh. F. zu Antwerpen, wurde nach Vollendung seiner größtentheils in Italien gemachten Studien Professor zu Löwen, erhielt 1601 einen Ruf nach München als Leibarzt des Herzogs und nachmaligen Kurfürsten Maximilian I. Ein interessanter Brief Fyens' (in P. Burmann's Sylloges epistolarum, Leidae 1724. II. 79) aus dieser Zeit schildert das baierische Hofleben. F. trat bald in gleicher Eigenschaft in die Dienste des Erzherzogs Albrecht zu Brüssel, ging abermals zum Lehrfach über und starb als Professor zu Löwen 1631.
